Ages 5-High School Seniors are eligible to tryout for our Competition Team

2018-2019 Competition Team Tryouts have concluded.

We have been a leader in dance education for over twenty years. Our highly successful competition team members have won top awards throughout the region and across the nation! By starting with the best dance instructors available, offering leading edge choreography, providing excellent practice facilities, developing clear communication processes for the team families, and encouraging the team members to be their best, Miller Street has created an environment unmatched in our region!

Miss Dance of America

Natalie Rogers has been dancing at Miller Street Dance Academy for 15 years, and is currently a high school senior in the Miller Street Dance Academy Pre-Professional Program. Natalie has held the titles of Petite, Junior, Teen Miss, and Miss Dance of North Carolina, and also went on to win Petite Miss Dance of America, Teen Miss Dance of America, and is the reigning Miss Dance of America 2018. In addition to dance, Natalie has also produced two songs with Moho Records. She has appeared in the Broadway Arts Lab productions of ‘Legally Blonde’ as Elle Woods, and ‘Annie’ as Mrs. Hannigan and Lily. Natalie plans to attend the University of Alabama to study Musical Theater in the fall of 2018.

Petite Miss Dance of NC

Brianne Harman is eight years old and is in third grade at Park Road Montessori. Brianne began dancing at age three, and studies tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, musical theater, and hip hop. She is a three year member of the MSDA Competition Team.
Brianne loves all forms of dance, but her favorites are jazz and musical theater. She is honored to have been named Petite Miss Dance of North Carolina 2017/18. In addition, at the Carolina Dance Masters Fall Convention, she also won the Interview and Jazz awards. When she isn’t dancing, Brianne enjoys riding her bike, reading, knitting, and baking.

Junior Miss Dance of NC

Bella Jones is a 10 year old fourth grader and straight ‘A’ student at Ballantyne Elementary. She began dancing at two and studies Jazz, Musical Theater, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Acrobatics and Tap. Bella loves all styles of dance but her favorite is Ballet.  She’s held the title of Petite Miss Dance of NC and is your current Junior Miss Dance of NC. Other titles and acheivements are Petite and Junior Miss Encore Extreme, various dance convention scholarships, NYCDA Mini Outstanding Dancer, Radix Core Performer, NUVO Breakout Artist and a full scholarship to The Dallas Conservatory’s International Dance Summer Intensive (ISDI) 2018. In addition to dance, Bella also enjoys modeling.  She’s currently an ambassador for Chris Henrikson Photography, GPI- GrandPrixIntensive at Master Ballet Academy, SouLo and Audition Dancewear. Bella hopes to be a ballerina and an Orthopedic Surgeon.


Teen Miss Dance of NC

Calie is 15 years old and has been dancing at Miller Street Dance Academy for 13 years and has been on the Competition Team for 8 years.

She is in the 10th grade at Ardrey Kell High School.  She is a dedicated Honors and AP student that holds a position on the A-B Honor Roll.

Calie studies Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern and Acrobatics.  Musical Theater and Jazz numbers are her favorite to perform.

When not dancing she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Calie is thrilled to be Teen Miss Dance of North Carolina 2018 and to represent Carolina Dance Masters!


Miss Dance of NC

Abbey Jones is a High School Junior and maintains an A average. She previously held the title of Teen Miss Dance of North Carolina 2014-2015 and is the current Miss Dance of North Carolina 2017-2018. When she is not dancing, Abbey enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She hopes to attend the University of Auburn in the Fall of 2019. She would love to major in Biology and minor in Psychology with hopes of a career in Medicine.
